Through a Workforce Skills Based Curriculum, in combination with the San Rafael Sanctuary, Inc. Instructional Steps Framework, San Rafael Sanctuary builds at-risk adults back up with inner strength and the courage to believe in themselves through the power of love and God’s Divine Mercy.



The San Rafael Sanctuary, Inc. Instructional Steps Framework was designed based on the following core beliefs:

• Everyone deserves a second chance.
• Human dignity is non-negotiable.
• A strong mentorship can change a person’s destiny.
• It’s not enough to teach someone to “fish;” the person must also be shown the path to the water.
• Employment is key to recovering from homelessness and preventing it.
• Hands-on experience is fundamental for learning. 
• Community partnerships create meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth.
• Individualized attention from counselors, mentors, and staff, heal traumatic wounds and emotional scars.
• Spiritual interfaith collaborations embrace everyone and develop inner strength.
• Collaboration among instructors enhances teaching practices. 

Our program participants are personally vetted by Directors of Homeless Shelters, Food Pantries, and Religious Institutions throughout Los Angeles County.
